The town of Cercola includes the district of Caravita. Close to the Vesuvius area, Cercola is the town at the gates of the Vesuvius National Park.

Its churches and the municipal building erected by the first mayor of Cercola, Domenico Riccardi, are of important local interest. To date, most of these monuments have been renovated.
