The wine of the Vesuvius is a product that fully enters the history of national and international oenology and is well-known all over the world. “Haec iuga quam Nysae colles plus Bacchus amavit”: Bacchus loved these hills more than the native hills of Nisa (Martial). Here the grapes have a unique taste and aroma.
The fame of this marvellous corner of the world and its wine inspired many myths and legends: “God, seeing the Gulf of Naples as a strip of sky removed by Lucifer, cried and the vine of Lacryma Christi was born where the divine tears fell”. Curzio Malaparte took this legend and in La pelle he invites us to drink “this sacred, ancient wine”.
The production area only includes the wine-growing areas of 15 municipalities in the province of Naples, located on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, where the vineyards host native varieties, which have always been cultivated in this area, such as Caprettone and Falanghina.
