Located at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, it’s now an integral part of the urban area of the city of Naples and is connected to it by the Circumvesuviana railway network. Remembered many times for being the city of Alighiero Noschese, Luca Giordano and Massimo Troisi, it’s generally divided by the inhabitants into two parts: San Giorgio Alta and San Giorgio Bassa.
The area of San Giorgio Bassa includes the town hall and the Church of the Queen of the Lilies, as well as the squares Troisi and Municipio, while the upper part includes Piazza Giordano Bruno, Via Manzoni and the church Santa Maria dell'Aiuto.
